Cruising with Norwegian Jade, Spirit and Sun in 2020

Written By:
July 2, 2019

Looking forward to next year brings another exciting season for cruising. With the recent announcement of Norwegian Cruise Line’s 2020 sailings, the spotlight has been reclaimed by some of the fleet’s older vessels.

Now that Norwegian Bliss and Joy have settled into their Alaskan itineraries, some of the other members of the fleet have been renovated up to Norwegian Cruise Line’s prestigious standards. So here are a few of the things you can expect from Norwegian Jade, Spirit and Sun in 2020.

NORWEGIAN JADE

Norwegian Jade

Starting with the newest vessel on this list, Norwegian Jade has earned a recent overhaul in 2017 and is the biggest ship too. Hosting a comfortable 2,402 people, she will feature a brand new cruising itinerary in September 2020 which includes spectacular ports and one-way itineraries. Calls include Monte Carlo, Naples, Rome, Florence/Pisa, Monaco, Olympia, Santorini, Rhodes, Mykonos and many more.

Thanks to her latest changes, Norwegian Jade has already received some of the newest features that Norwegian Cruise Line has to offer. Chic modern restaurants, dazzling shows and a completely renovated top deck have propelled Jade into the modern era.

NORWEGIAN SPIRIT

Norwegian Spirit

Following a multi-million dollar, bow-to-stern renovation in January 2017, Norwegian Spirit, from 9th May through to 21st December 2020, will return to Asia. Sailing nine and 15-night itineraries, guests will be able to experience the best of what Asia has to offer, including overnight stays in Tokyo, Kyoto, Shanghai and Hong Kong. Fortunately, guests can arrive in time for the summer 2020 Olympics, which is being held in Japan, thanks to special sailings which are still to be announced.

During its 2017 renovation, the latest passengers on Norwegian Spirit have since enjoyed 17 dining venues in total, including premium speciality options. Even though her time in dry dock was only a few days, the ship has received some renovations to the main lounges and most staterooms but retained her more authentic style.

NORWEGIAN SUN

Norwegian Sun

Norwegian Sun is the last ship to receive the Norwegian Edge revamp, and with just under 2,000 guests sailing at one time, Norwegian fans will be excited to hear that she is returning to Alaska in May 2020, alongside her two sisters. Her new itineraries will feature nine to 12-night sailings around Alaska’s iconic fjords, Juneau, Hubbard Glacier, Victoria in British Columbia and other stunning ports.

Included in the new renovations are refreshed staterooms, public spaces and three new venues in the form of Los Lobos Cantina, Bliss Ultra Lounge and Spinnaker Lounge. Three other restaurants have also been given a revamp, including a complete makeover for both the Four Seasons and Seven seas dining rooms. Plus, anyone who love’s Norwegian’s Teppanyaki can enjoy even more space with the dining area gaining double the occupancy. Finally, the spas on board have been polished off with extra features to make your experience even less stressful.
