As most river cruising fans will know, Emerald Waterways has been an established river cruising operator for around seven years. Owning eight river vessels and two small coastal ships, they have everything from your authentic European sailings to itineraries to far-flung destinations like Egypt and South-East Asia.
But, with their planned new ship, Emerald Waterways will be starting their ocean fleet with luxury yacht Emerald Azzurra.
Here are some of the features that she will bring to the luxury yacht market and destinations she will visit.
As mentioned, Emerald Azzurra will be the line’s first ocean-going vessel. This new class is created with luxury and innovation in mind, and with a maximum capacity of just 100 passengers. The six different decks are sure to keep customers entertained during their cruise. Each deck serves its own purpose, with Deck 2 (Wellness Deck) boasting well-equipped gyms, state-of-the-art saunas, indulgent spas, hairdressers and the marina platform.
Deck 3 (Emerald Deck) is the main deck, with chic modern venues like the Horizon Bar and The Terrace being the perfect social spots. This deck has been opened out, offering both indoor and alfresco dining in the lavish Reflections Restaurant. Plus, to remember their experience on board, cruisers can buy a souvenir from the extensive gift shop also found on Deck 3.
The remaining four decks are all built to enjoy the spectacular views, soak up the sun and pick up your favourite beverage any time of the day. The vessel will be operated by 64 crew members, promising a 2:1 passenger-to-crew ratio and, with a length of 110m, travellers will always be able to find their own relaxing retreat.
Even though she won’t be completed until 2021, her inaugural cruising season has already been announced. Enjoying the azure waters of the Mediterranean, each voyage will take cruisers around the famous cities soaking up historical wonders, mouth-watering cuisine and some spectacular sights along the way. As well as visiting iconic ports of call like Rome, Nice, Dubrovnik, Athens and Venice, there are some lesser-visited cruise ports like Limassol and Aqaba that are waiting to be explored.
Each sailing is currently a seven-night itinerary, with special cruises including ‘Holy Land at Christmas’ departing on the 21st December 2021, stopping off at Port Said, Egypt; Haifa, Israel; and Ashdod, Jerusalem before returning to Cyprus.
We are excited to see Emerald Azzurra enter the waters in 2021.
