Lifetime Experiences – are what cruising on Silversea Expedition ships is all about. The three ships – Silver Explorer, Silver Discoverer and Silver Galapagos carry between 100 – 132 passengers each. They are smaller ships than the rest of the fleet and are purpose built for the environments they sail in, for example Silver Explorer has an A1 ice breaking hull. This allows a more intimate and friendly cruise experience with like-minded people, experiencing a common goal. What could be better than sailing into the most remote parts of the world on a once in a lifetime trip, but still with the luxury of a truly pampered journey?

Xtras On Board? Again, everything as for the boutique ships but... Perhaps most importantly on a Silversea Expedition is the inclusion of shore excursions (see below) as well as the expertise of a large expedition team including eminent naturalists, geologists, biologists, historians, and ornithologists. They not only guide you on the expeditions themselves but also offer lectures, recaps and briefings on board, so that you get the most out of your experience of a lifetime. Additionally a backpack and stainless-steel water bottle is provided on all expeditions, and a complimentary parka, as well, on polar voyages.
Unique Shore Excursions are available with Silversea - but on Expedition ships, they should probably be termed expedtions. For example Silver Discoverer has 12 zodiacs for you to explore the wetlands of the world or remote submerged ecosystems. Expeditions by zodiac, on land and sea include hiking, diving, snorkelling and small group tours. Different levels of activity are offered. Your expedition of a lifetime is fittingly recorded in a Voyage Journal.
Restaurants on board offer the fine dining you would expect due to Silversea’s partnership with the prestigious Grands Chefs Relais & Chateaux On each of the three expedition ships, there is a main dining room (The Restaurant) which is open dining. Additionally on Silver Galapagos and Silver Discoverer, The Grill is open for lunches and lighter, more informal evening meals. There is also the option of in suite dining – course by course.
Yap, Yangon and Yakutat – just some of the ports of call visited by Silversea Expedition itineraries visit up to 350 destinations on 7 continents: from the lush rainforests of the equatorial Pacific to the polar extremes at the very edge of the world. The expedition ships specifically sail in the Russian Far East, Arctic, Antarctic and Galapagos areas, as well as traditionally more inaccessible areas of the world, like the Kimberley Coast in Australia or the Marquesas Islands of the Southern Pacific. Silversea Expeditions offer cruises with bird watching, photography, culinary, scuba diving and wellness themes.
