Seabourn Encore Review

Written By:
Ian Warren
December 3, 2018

Having been lucky enough to win a travel trade competition, I was visiting Singapore in November 2018, with 6 other travel agents, courtesy of the Singapore Tourist Board, Holland America Line and Seabourn. Part of the prize included a couple of ship visits, with today’s visit being the Seabourn Encore, and I also visited the MS Westerdam.

Read on for further details of the ship and my short video, and click on the following link for my photos of Seabourn Encore on Facebook, my videos of Singapore, my photos of Singapore, my review and video of MS Westerdam, and my photos of MS Westerdam. For more details, or for a specific quotation, call GoCruise with Ian on 01455821770 or 08002922850.

Seabourn Encore was launched in January 2017, and she is an all-suite, all-balcony, ultra-luxury cruise liner. She weighs in at 40,350 gross tonnes and carries around 600 passengers in 6-star luxury. There are 12 grades of suite, ranging in size from a Veranda Suite, measuring between 246 and 302 sq ft, with a veranda between 68 and 83 sq ft, right up to a Grand Suite. There are four of these, with two measuring 1,292 sq ft, plus two verandas totalling 244 sq ft, and two measuring 1,231 sq ft, plus two verandas totalling 973 sq ft. All suites have a minimum of a lounge area, mini bar, fridge, personal safe, a walk-in closet interactive entertainment system. There is also a spacious marble bathroom, with a full-sized bath, separate shower, exclusive Moulton Brown products, and plush terry robes and slippers. There are 8 wheelchair accessible suites onboard.

As you move around the ship you will find 5 restaurants, and 7 lounges and bars. All dining is included in the price of your cruise, with open seating. The venues are The Restaurant, where we enjoyed a lovely lunch, The Grill by Thomas Keller, The Colonnade, Sushi, The Patio, and in-suite dining. Complimentary premium spirits and fine wines are also included everywhere on board, even in your suite, where you get to choose what is stocked in the mini bar. As you move up to the premium suites, additional amenities are included. All gratuities are also included in the price of your cruise.

If you are looking for rest and relaxation, you will find a spa and wellness area, and a well-equipped fitness room. There are 2 pools and 6 whirlpools onboard, and you can also take advantage of complimentary water sports from the marina on the aft of the ship.

During 2019 Seabourn Encore will be visiting Australia, New Zealand, Bali, Singapore, Dubai and the Mediterranean. Other ships in the fleet are Seabourn Odyssey, Seabourn Sojourn, Seabourn Quest and Seabourn Ovation, and between them all they will be visiting the seven continents. For more information, or a quotation for a Seabourn cruise, call GoCruise with Ian on 01455821770 or 08002922850.
