My first cruise was at the tender age of 12, on the Pendennis line from South Africa back to Southampton. I can still recall The King Neptune ceremony on crossing the line…. And the chocolate ice cream at dinner. Since then I have loved the water , and everything associated with it. I have found River cruising a real delight, being totally spoilt, and eating good food with fine wines. Walking up to new destinations yet only unpacking once. This is the way to see the world with little effort for me! 

I been very fortunate to travel in style. And learnt how to negotiate the best lounges at the Airports and what seats are best on the plane. I am very well travelled recently finding the delights of India and her warmth. I have travelled to Cambodia, Vietnam,

China and Africa where I lived for many years. Who else could brag to have a hippopotamus at the bottom of their garden, who I called Dumb Dumb…?

My Family and I have spent every Christmas in some exotic place, Barbados in a beach Villa    with a local chef called Gladys who cooked us all Bajan food and its here I first tasted cream of Pumpkin soup. mmmm. Then it was Jamaica’s turn with Jerked Chicken.

Then it was Skiing, a pastime the who family could do together. I must admit I was the worst out of all of us. 

My wanderlust is still a huge factor in my life and now with the Fred Olsen Brand I can pass on my knowledge to my clients. I have now access to deals and great offers

My favourite cruise ship..

I personally love the sedated river cruise. So mine would be the Ganges 2 with Uniworld.

I had a suite with its own Butler and even got to choose my own soaps and fragrances. You may think, so what!  But their attention to detail was above and beyond.

On my second day I was given a questionnaire, I remarked don’t we get this as we leave the ship?

I was then told....but madam if you are leaving us, then anything not perfect, is too late for us to correct.  We don’t want anything but perfection for our guests.

The chef cooked us meals of perfection, with great choice and variety. And at every meal there was a healthy option.

The tours from the boat were varied and every day was a delight.

If I could do this again, I would without question.

Next on my wish list is...

My bucket list grows with every holiday I arrange, I think mmm I’d like to do that...
