A travel professional since 1978 with experience ranging from working with Aer Lingus through to the present day working with GoCruise.
I have traveled to most of the well known places on the planet and as such I am quite familiar various local custom and habits in the USA, Australia, Japan, South Africa and the Major European countries.
Since 2003 I have been actively involved with the cruising world. I have been fortunate enough to enjoy the hospitality of some of the great cruise lines ever to sail the seven seas.
It is a daily challenge to keep up with the ever changing face of the cruise market and one I deeply enjoy being involved with.
Being a cruise specialist has brought it's own wonderful rewards. It is a wonderful thing to be able to look back over the years and realise that I have seen the launch of many a new vessel that are sailing the worlds oceans even as we speak.
I can remember stepping onto the Queen Mary 2 and being one of the first passengers to taste the food, drink the wine and dance the night away until exhaustion finally kicked in.
Visiting ships is a very important part of what I do as a cruise specialist. It's my hope that what I experience on board I will be able to translate with great excitement the details to all my clients when guiding them through their booking experience.
I would love to say I have sailed on all the cruise ships in the world but I'm not really sure if that's possible. I have had the pleasure of stepping aboard a great many though.
A naming ceremony is another very exciting event to witness. The champagne bottle smashing into the hull of the ship never fails to bring a tear to everyone's eye.
Later in 2013 I look forward to cruising the wonders of Alaska and hope to be lucky enough one day to try a Star Clipper cruise and experience the beauty of sailing aboard a five masted tall ship!
For me the climaxing moment was on the P&O liner "Azura" Introduced by Trevor McDonald and named by Darcy Bussell it was star-studded night to remember.
